Nuverra have an immediate opening for Shop Manager at our Tioga, ND location. The Shop Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the shop by performaning fleet maintenance and repair and by overseeing, planning and coordinating the implementation of fleet maintenance and repair by your staff. Qualifications

What you need to apply…

Qualifications:

  • 5 years’ experience as a mechanic required
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience managing a team of 5 – 15 mechanics
  • Preventive maintenance knowledge and comprehension of all truck maintenance including tire installation and complete servicing of truck
  • Must be able to diagnose, repair or replace basic systems such as brakes, lights, alternators and starters
  • High Mechanical aptitude is required
  • Must own basic hand tools, socket set up to 1 1/2” and impact wrench and various pneumatic tools
  • Previous experience in the oil/gas or trucking industry is required
  • Must have strong computer skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Positive attitude, self -motivated and high energy
  • Enjoys rapid pace and changing work environment
  • Team player and collaborates well with others
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills

 

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Have a full range of mobility in upper and lower body in order to be able to work in various positions, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, squatting, and walking for extended periods of time
  • Be able to reach over head with hands and arms, climb or balance
  • Be able to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
  • Be able to lift, pull, and push materials and equipment to assigned job tasks
  • Be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds regularly and occasionally lift and/or move 75 pounds
  • The employee could occasionally be exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals
  • The noise level requires ear protection while operating equipment

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Set team daily direction and goals and reinforce messages on a daily and regular basis through coaching, team meetings, and other forms of communication
  • Manage staff for performance and results
  • Demonstrate leadership techniques that constantly recognize and encourage positive work of employees by sharing knowledge and insight in a meaningful and supportive manner
  • Maintain high standards and expectations, but fair and impartial in application of standards
  • Maintains, diagnoses and repairs all equipment – understands warranty procedures and handles warranty issues with vendors
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic equipment and various pumps
  • Assisting other mechanics as needed in completing special projects
  • Wearing all required personal protective equipment (PPE) related to task being performed as well as using all required safety equipment and procedures
  • Maintain a neat and professional appearance of self and shop areas
  • Will complete DOT inspections without supervision
  • Will complete paperwork requirements under DOT, service and checklists
  • Time break down-70% shop and 30% office
  • Will perform computer tasks including, but not limited to Cat ET, Cummins Insite and the troubleshooting tree
