Qualifications:

  • Must have a positive attitude and high ethical standards regarding the safety of self and others as demonstrated by consistent adherence to company policies
  • A good understanding of general safety /environmental requirements in the oil/gas industry
  • Must be committed to the goals and policies of the company
  • Must project all company policies in a positive, encouraging manner
  • Must have a positive working relationship with all District Managers
  • Must have a strong desire to promote a “Behavior-Based Safety Program”
  • Strong Organizational skills;
  • Ability to source information and provide competent advice
  • Ability to manage conflict and changing priorities
  • Be a self-starter
  • Handle confidential information in an ethic manner
  • Ability to work in a team oriented environment
  • Have the ability to travel and work on a flexible schedule
  • Work is performed indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Must complete and pass pre-employment drug/alcohol test
  • Strong commitment to health and safety on the worksite
  • Be willing to accept on call duties with 24/7 coverage

Communication Skills:

  • Must have excellent written, computer and oral communication skills
  • Respond calmly to emergency and/or critical situations
  • Ability to communicate clearly, confidently and concisely

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to travel to remote rig sites in multiple states

Experience:

  • Must have a Valid Driver’s License
  • Preference given to applicants with 5 years of HSE related experience
  • Working knowledge in MS Word and Excel in order to prepare reports
  • A commensurate background in practical field applications of workplace health, safety and environment processes in relevant industry is highly regarded
  • Experience in Root Cause Analysis

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Demonstrate positive leadership skills by exhibiting self-control, and by leading by example in safe driving practices and appropriate use of Personal Protection Equipment
  • Remain current and knowledgeable of OSHA and other Health & Safety Regulations
  • Undertake the opportunity to "Mentor" others with regards to the Nuverra's HSE Safety Management Programs, attend safety meetings, and provide safety training
  • Support the training element of the company HSE Management System by ensuring that the safety program and company policies are being followed in the field
  • Promote the awareness of hazard identification, elimination and control
  • Assist with the development of policies, programs and procedures as needed
  • Support training policies and communicate policy changes
  • Respond to incidents in a timely manner and provide onsite support as needed
  • Provide support to the HSE Department by assisting with the monthly safety meetings and any and all trainings as needed
  • Conduct and document observations of drivers to ensure the continuity of the safety program as taught in orientation throughout the company
  • Performs all other duties as assigned
