Nuverra/PowerFuels specializes in the transportation of drilling fluids. We are dedicated to providing the safest and most reliable transportation and disposal in the Bakken Region.

We are currently seeking a Mechanic II at our Tioga, North Dakota location. This position will perform maintenance and repairs on truck fleet. Qualifications

Minimum Requirments:

  • Valid diesel mechanic certification from vocation or trade school
  • 2 years’ experience as a mechanic required
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, Class A CDL preferred
  • Must own basic hand tools, socket set up to 1 ½”, impact wrench and various pneumatic tools
  • Must have knowledge of transmissions, clutches, flywheel, rear ends and wheel seals
  • Must have general knowledge of hydraulic systems
  • Experience in the oil and gas industry a plus
  • Must have basic computer skills
  • Ability to work in a fast pace changing environment
  • Ability to pass pre-employment screening- background check, drug screening, and fitness for duty test

 

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds regularly and occasionally lift and/or move up 75+ pounds
  • Have a full range of mobility in upper and lower body in order to be able to work in various positions, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, squatting, and walking for extended periods of time
  • Be able to reach over head with hands and arms, climb or balance
  • Be able to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
  • Be able to lift, pull, and push materials and equipment to assigned job tasks
  • Be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds regularly and occasionally lift and/or move 75 pounds
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals
  • The noise level requires ear protection while operating equipment
  • Will work in all weather conditions
  • Willing to work different shifts and overtime

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Monitor maintenance schedule on truck fleet.
  • Make mechanical repairs on truck fleet, including lubrication, electrical, air, hydraulic, pneumatic, oil level, brakes, springs, clutches, vacuum pumps, radiators, turbos, replacing tires, wheel seals, welding and fabrication.
  • Perform service/preventive maintenance on truck fleet.
  • Replacement of non-warranty components.
  • Maintain shop tools and parts inventory.
  • Will complete DOT inspections with little or no supervision.
  • Keep work area neat and clean.
  • Comply with all safety rules according to OSHA standards.
  • Will complete all required documentation and reports – DOT, Service, Forms and Checklist.
