Position Summary:

A successful HR Generalist will collaborate with Recruiter, HR Manager and department managers on a regular basis and proactively process employee files. In this role, you will manage policies and procedures; assist with benefits administration, implement and administer compensation practices including analysis and merit planning; rewrite job descriptions as necessary; monitor performance evaluation program; participate in and manage all phase’s employee file maintenance using various sources. The ideal HR Generalist would hold an academic HR background combined with oilfield/Department of Transportation (DOT) work experience.



Education, Experience and/or Training:

  • Minimum Required Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum Required Experience: Minimum 1-year human resource experience in a generalist type role.
  • Desirable Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree and 1-year HR experience is preferred.

  • Thorough knowledge of internal Company software applications applicable to position/business unit applications managed by business unit (i.e. iCIMS, Paycor, Epicor, PeopleNet, DISA, E-Verify, FMCSA PSP etc.).



  • Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities: A successful HR Generalist must be able to perform each essential duty listed.

    • Analyzes employee change notice information skillfully to obtain a complete employee files for HR processing.
    • Maintains and applies knowledge of transportation laws, DOT regulations, and Company hiring criteria, as well as maintaining and promoting Company safety goals.
    • Uses relevant information, sound judgment, and collaborates with management to determine whether employees meet Company and regulatory employment standards.
    • Monitors and answers daily emails, text messages and phone calls between applicants, managers and employees.
    • Obtains copies of all documentation required to process employee changes into HR/Payroll systems (including: driver’s license, medical card, I-9 acceptable documents, training certificates, employee forms and supporting documentation).
    • Collect and support Recruiters in processes numerous verifications of applicant and active employee information (i.e. previous employment, FMCSA PSP, E-Verify, MVR, Background etc.) and assists applicants/employees with revisions and clarifications as needed.
    • Works with local management to collect all employee change paperwork in a timely fashion.
    • Assists with the development of new hire and active employee file compliance. This will include accurately entering and maintaining up to date information on a continuous basis in the ATS, HR database, Driver Qualification file (DQF) and Document Management System (DMS).
    • Manages and enters active employee change paperwork from transfers, leave of absence, pay changes and terminations into the HR database and DMS in order to meet payroll deadlines while ensuring that departmental policies and procedures are strictly followed.
    • Communicates with internal and external stakeholders, represents the Company at career fairs, recruiting events, to customers, the public, vendors, schools, and other external sources.
    • Develops constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintaining them over time.
    • Achieves staffing objectives by recruiting and evaluating job candidates; advising managers; and managing all steps necessary to onboard new and rehired employees while growing a strong talent pipeline.
    • Performs additional duties as assigned by leadership.

    • Travel as required.
